At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Hi guys!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for my personal challenge to raise £500 for The Alzheimer’s society.  Firstly a little about my worthwhile cause:

Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia, affecting around 465,000 people in the UK. The term 'dementia' describes a set of symptoms which can include loss of memory, mood changes, and problems with communication and reasoning. These symptoms occur when the brain is damaged by certain diseases and conditions, including Alzheimer's disease.

I have witnessed how Alzheimer’s causes daily struggles in both of my grandparents and how debilitating it can be.  From struggling to carry out simple tasks such as making a cup of tea, falling out with loved ones just trying to help, or trying to remember if one has taken their medicines for the day, it can leave the sufferers withdrawn, confused and unconfident in daily life.

I’m taking an opportunity with Loughborough University RAG to raise some money for The Alzheimer’s society by skydiving from 13,500ft during the summer term.

I would be personally grateful if you could sponsor me in this adrenaline fuelled challenge and to donate to The Alzheimer’s society where every penny counts in helping to support those affected by Alzheimer's and to fund research into a possible cure for the disease.

Thank you.
