So you’re running the Great North Run?

That’s great, but are you running it to give premature
babies a chance at life?

Well I know someone who is, he was inspired by the stories he read about babies being born, only a few minutes old and yet already
fighting for their lives. He could never have imagined how for some parents, what should be one of the happiest days of their lives, could actually be full of pain and sadness.

That someone of course is me, I have only recently become acquainted
with babies, they have always been mysterious, I mean what do you even say to them? About a year ago I held one for the first time. I stared down at her and as I looked into her big brown eyes I thought, wow what a beautiful thing it is to create life. Every family should have this chance. But some families don’t have the same chances, some babies are born prematurely or sick. To give these parents a fighting chance they need help and support. I would like to help fund the things they need to even the odds.

Tiny lives can give hope to families that would otherwise have none. They help those who can't ask for it, those who come into the world not knowing who they are, how they got there or how fragile they actually are. But what they will come to know in years to come is that a group of people were kind enough to donate a few quid to help them experience all the wonders life can bring.

Premature babies are born at Newcastle RVI every year and Tiny Lives is a registered charity that helps fund their care and of their families. I've chosen to help them and I hope you'll join me!
