Vietnam to Cambodia cycling challenge · 14 November 2020

We’re the National Deaf Children’s Society, the charity for deaf children with any level of hearing loss. Whatever the question or challenge, we’ll help find a way through. We believe in a world where anything is possible for deaf children. Together, let’s make sure nothing holds deaf children back.

Story

On the 14th of November 2020 I will be departing for Ho Chi Minh City to take part in a charity bike ride to Cambodia. I will be fundraising for the National Deaf Children’s Society. I chose this charity because of the support they have given to my Niece, Lyra and brother and sister in law.
Here is a note from my Dave explaining the fantastic support NDCS has provided for the family:

“The National Deaf Children’s Society provided workshops for us to attend which focussed on learning sign language and the benefits and limitations of technology. The latter was really useful as it gave us a much broader understanding of the difference between Lyra's hearing experience with the use of technology and what everyone else experiences. They also provided us with lots of resources and links to community groups which we could get together with. Again the community groups were invaluable as it gives the parents a chance to talk with people who are going through the same thing. It's also great for the kids to meet up in these situations as they don't often see other children with hearing devices. They also offer support regarding any benefits that can be claimed through the disability living allowance and also any funding which can go towards childcare.”
