Story
As I am sure many of you know I have always said I would never do this. It isn't just my ridiculous fear of anything higher than a step ladder but also the pure irrationality of throwing yourself out of a perfectly working plane when it could just land with you still on board!
Likely caused to me not actually being able to say no to anyone, however, I have agreed to celebrate a good friend's 40th by crossing off one of her (not mine!!) bucket list entries by doing a skydive. It seems only right, therefore, that we do it for charity so that atleast someone benefits from my complete fear, hysterical crying on the way down and 6 months of nightmares before hand.
YoungMinds, my chosen charity, is the UK's leading charity championing the wellbeing and mental health of young people. Mental health is an important issue for all in society and especially for our young people. Having struggled throughout my adolescence with coping mechanisms and general mental wellbeing I know first hand how vital charities like YoungMinds can be in helping our future generations prepare for adult life!
Please, if you can, spare pennies and pounds to help make a difference in a young person's life and, if not for any other reason, than the added benefit of knowing a fully grown 27 year old man is likely to scream like a girl at a Busted concert later this year whilst whistling through 15,000 feet of regret!!
Cheers all!
Chris
