Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last year I raised over £2,500 for Action for A-T, cycling from BCA Paddock Wood to Bruges in Belgium.

On Thursday 10th September, my little legs will embark on another epic cycling challenge, as I set off from BCA Leeds with 60 of my BCA colleagues with the aim of arriving in Dusseldorf, Germany by the Saturday afternoon.

Over 3 days, we will cover 240 miles as we head through the Hook of Holland onto Eindhoven before we reach our final destination just over the German border.

Last year our team raised over £140,000 for this fantastic charity that does valuable research work to help find a cure for this devastating childhood condition, and provides treatments that help delay the disabling effects.

My aim is to once again raise as much money as possible to help this charity so any donation is gratefully received.

What is Ataxia Telangiesctasia (A-T)?

A-T is a rare, neurodegenerative, inherited disease which can affect many parts of the body and cause severe disability. In about 70% of cases, A-T weakens the immune system and can lead to severe respiratory conditions. The condition first shows itself at the toddler stage with symptoms including a lack of balance, slurred speech and a more than normal number of infections. On top of severe physical disabilities, 1 in 4 children will develop cancer or severe lung disease and more than half will die before they are out of their teens.
