I just wanted to say thanks again for all the donations i received for my attempt to the run the New York City Marathon in November 2012 for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

i know it sounds a cliche but i was touched, and humbled, by all the kind donations and lovely messages i received. As most of you know the marathon was cancelled a couple of days before it was due to take place as the city was struggling to cope with the effects of Hurricaine Sandy.

However, the Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research society managed to get me a place in the London Marathon on 21st April 2013 so your donations will hopefully not be in vain. 

Richard Ashcroft from The Verve once famously sang that The Drugs Don't Work. He was wrong in my case. They did. The advances in chemical science made directly from funds raised from cancer research charities mean developments are made to save the lives of people, like me, who would have died even just a few years ago. The struggle isn't over though. People are still dying of cancer. But, with the generosity of people like you the eventual goal of living in a cancer free world is hopefully getting closer every day.

So thanks again. For a lot of you its been many months since you sponsored me and i just wanted to let you know its not been forgotten.
