Get together with friends or family for a walk and turn it into a fundraiser for BBC Children in Need.

Story

The Countryfile team are back and raising life-changing amounts of money by donning their walking boots.I am joining them with my own sponsored Countryfile Ramble to help change support children and young people.

The last 18 months have brought back anxiety attacks that I used to suffer from in my mid 20s to the point of starting to become agoraphobic . It’s been quite tricky being able to manage them in recent times, but the positive is I’ve really focussed on getting out for a walk and discovering our local green spaces for my mental health. I’m sure people of all generations have found it tough and I want to share my experience so that others can enjoy the space like me, hopefully resulting in a positive wellbeing change.

Planning on a 5kish route to take in some of the many sites and sounds of Purdown and Stoke Park - families, school friends etc all welcome! We'll head to the woods, the pond, the obelisk and the artillery battery.

Meet at Sir Johns Lane off Romney Avenue at 09:30 on Sunday 10th October, bring your boots!

I'm also pledging to walk 100km over the course of October :)

Update: Monday 11th October, 27km completed :)
