Parachute for Parkinson's UK · 9 April 2011 ·
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In April, I am taking part in a charity skydive in aid of Parkison's UK. I wanted to take part last year but could not find the funds while focusing on taking my GCSE's.
Sadly in September 2010, my Grandad lost his battle with Parkinson's and I would like to raise as much money as possible to help the charity to support those suffering and their families.
Parkinson's disease completely changed my Grandad from the athletic man he was when I was young, to the man I have most memories of, as being saddened that he couldn't do the things he wanted to, as simple as they may be, for himself. He had a big heart and was very close to everyone in my family which made it horrible to see him suffering in such a way. This is why I think it is important to have associations such as Parkinson's UK to help families through this.
Sponsorship will also help to fund research into cures for Parkinson's Disease to prevent others losing a loved one as I have.
My grandad always wanted to help others and I want to do something for him and thousands of other people experiencing a life affected by Parkinson's disease. I would be grateful of any sponsorship to help make him proud!
