I will be running, walking, hobbling, hopping or crawling the 13.1 miles from Newcastle to South Shields on 7th September 2014 to raise funds for the Northern Oesophago Gastric Cancer Fund.

I'm running in memory of my much missed Dad Dave, who we sadly lost to oesophageal cancer in March 2013.

North East England has the highest rate of Oesophageal and gastric cancers in Europe. The symptoms are such that medical help is often not sought until the cancer is advanced and/or has spread. The charity promotes awareness of symptoms, which may just prompt a sufferer to consult their doctor in time to be diagnosed and receive life saving treatment. 

Too many people have had their life touched by cancer. Together, we can all fight cancer in one way or another.
