Story
In 2007 my beloved husband Dave, very suddenly passed away at the age of 28. The cause was later found to be an underlying heart condition which had never been detected. Dave served his country in the British Army, and left 2 young children, Elisha now 18 and Kalem now 14.
The loss of someone is always painful, but to watch someone you love, suddenly go, without warning and at such a young age is more than devastating - something no family should ever go through.
2 May 2019 would be Dave's 40th birthday and in his memory and to raise vital funds for Cardiomyopathy UK to continue their compelling research into heart disease and support for those affected, I have challenged myself to running the London Marathon on Sunday 28th April 2019 - something suggested by my daughter Elisha.
Now, I am not a runner!! This will be the biggest challenge of my live, aside from raising my two children single-hand. I have my new trainers, my training schedule and my best buddy (who is also running the 2019 London Marathon). I aim to cross that finishing line in April anyway I possibly can!
However I need your support please! As you have read, my reason for doing this challenge is to honour my husbands memory in what would be his 40th birthday year and to raise vital funds so that hopefully one day, no other family will ever have to go through our pain and devastation.
If you can donate a couple of quid that would be fantastic - thank you... if you could let your family and friends know too that would be amazing.. and if you see me pounding the pavements during my training, or the streets of London in April 2019 then please give me a wave!
Thank you.
