I first took part in the Swimathon in 1994 to raise money for good causes, swimming 5,000 metres each year since then, so Swimathon 2017 will be the 24th consecutive year I have taken part.

Last year Swimathon supported Sport Relief: this year the main charity supported will again be Marie Curie.
