Story
On Saturday June 22nd I will be competing in the Transpennine challenge. An Ultra Marathon from Manchester to Sheffield. 100km in distance which is 62.13 miles. The longest race I have ever taken part in.
Over 1500 people will be setting off from Manchester at 6am, through the urban landscape of Manchester, alongside winding riverside paths, through the Peak District to penistone which is the 50km checkpoint. Then right through Sheffield to the Don Valley Stadium whe we will finish at the 100km finish line. No doubt their will be blood, sweat and tears.
The run isn't for fun, I'm doing this to raise as much as I can for Macmillan Cancer Support. A charity that helps so many individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer and their famlies. The target I have set is £1000 which I feel is easily achievable. Please dig deep, all your donations will be greatly appreciated.
You can follow my progress on this page during the training or on my Twitter @chrismcconv
