Thanks for taking the time to remember Ian here. He was a much loved friend, colleague, crew counsellor, CSD and all round ‘entertainer’. We know from the outpouring of love online how much he was thought of and loved and, of course, how much he will be missed. 

Not only did Ian have the sharpest wit and impeccable comedy timing, but also a naturally compassionate and caring nature. His deeply sensitive insightfulness shone through in his counselling work within the crewcare team, where he was a counselling supervisor for many years. With just one look from his big brown eyes, he could immediately sense what was troubling you. A true gift indeed. 

Ian also undertook a placement with Metro counselling which offers health, community and youth services across London and the South East. So we thought it appropriate to support this charitable organisation here, enabling his legacy to have a positive impact on the work he believed in so passionately. 

Thanks Ian for all the laughs, love, wisdom, compassion, inspiration and the most brilliant ‘Dame Shirl’ impersonation this side of the Rotherhithe tunnel! 

Fly high and keep ‘em rolling in the aisles Ian! You will be sorely missed, but always remembered with a cheeky, wry smile. Lots of love 💕
