Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So my good friend David Sharkey and I are taking on the highest free standing mountain in the world! Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa stands at 5895m and will take 7 days to "dander up" and while unquestionably a huge personal challenge for us both we want to use this opportunity to raise some much needed funds for a charity whose work impacts in some context on all our lives.

My late grandmother Muriel Burrows in her own unassuming way lived and coped with Type 1 diabetes and attempting this climb is my way of remembering her and hopefully raising some money for a fantastic cause which benefited her life!

Diabetes UK is the leading UK charity and they work with health professionals to improve the quality of care across the UK's health services and fund pioneering research into care, cure and prevention for all types of diabetes. They also campaign to stem the rising tide of diabetes and any donation no matter how small will make a huge difference!

So please dig deep and donate now.
