Story
My name is Christopher Thomas and thank you for visiting my page. I’m supporting Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments.
Along with my siblings Sara, Andrew and the support of my friends we have decided to complete the Welsh Three peaks in loving memory of our mother who sadly passed away in February 2019, after a courageous battle with Sarcoma.
Sarcomas are uncommon cancers that can affect any part of the body, on the inside or outside, including the muscle, bone, tendons, blood vessels and fatty tissues. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat.
Our mother battled soft tissue Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer for two years. In those two years she had constant treatment, which included a full hysterectomy, four different types chemotherapy cycles, radiotherapy, and was hospitalised on numerous occasions. Despite all that she endured, she remained positive and strong throughout her battle. Testament of her character was the determination she displayed to attend my sister wedding in the autumn of 2018. Committing to completing the Three Peaks is the perfect challenge to undertake, that reflects our mother's determination and strength in life. Allowing us to raise money and to help educate people about this rare and aggressive cancer.
In addition to my mother, one of our group has also been diagnosed with this horrible disease and has also had to undergo various operations. At present he has been given the all clear but due to Sarcoma's aggressive nature he will have to undergo 3 monthly scans for his entire life to ensure that his remission continues.
By supporting me, we can help change this and bring awareness to this horrible disease. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep support lines open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
Thank you for your support.
