Fundraising for Holidays for Heroes Jersey
Story
Holidays for Heroes Jersey is an amazing charity which supports some true superheroes and we want to support on our first triathlon together!
We are members of the Merton hotel and we have met some amazing ‘heroes’ and their families over the last few years. Through them we heard about the Superhero Triathlon which we thought sounded amazing and it only seemed fitting we did it for Holidays for Heroes Jersey as we have seen and heard first hand the impact it has on the families who have holidayed on jersey!
The superhero triathlon Is the UK’s one and only disability sports series for the Everyday Superhero! The idea is simple. The triathlon is for people with disabilities and they call the shots and don’t have to worry about cut-off times or equipment restrictions! As such Harry is taking part with Mummy as his sidekick!! We will be swimming 150m (mummy is towing Harry in a dinghy), Harry will cycle 3k on his trike and then we will run 1 k together!
Not only will we do the triathlon together, Harry has also been selected to take part in a Celebrity relay triathlon team with the para Olympic swimmer, Stephanie slater! Ironically we will be doing the swim in the team event too (mummy is very nervous as this is her worst discipline!) and you might even catch us on Channel 4 as they are showing the event!!
We are so greatful for your support and this is a really huge challenge for both mummy and Harry!! It is our first triathlon together and we are both training hard!!
