NUTS challenge · 4 March 2017
Choirs are supposed to be fluffy nice groups right? Far away from mud and cold and army assault course? Lots of Kum Buy Ah My Lord?
Choirs which contain Carmel Boylan are a different kettle of fish. 2 years after dragging me round a half marathon and 4 cold water swims in February, she is working her wondrous powers again. This time, there will be more mud, less swimming, more cold and more crawling over and under things in an inept manner (100 obstacles in fact). And no pub across the road.
It will hopefully all be worth it because, as part of Team Saltus (a team of 20) we are raising funds and awareness for an amazing charity called Child Rescue Nepal (www.childrescuenepal.org), to fully fund one of their small family based homes for six months.
The money we raise will pay for the accommodation, hot food, pastoral care and counselling for children who have been rescued from terrible conditions and Child Rescue Nepal is their only hope.
Every penny counts and your donation will help carry me round, over, through each obstacle, even if my extremities are numb and my muscles have stopped working. And even if there is no pub in sight.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
