Osborne school caters for the needs of up 150 children, aged 11 – 19 years, with a wide range of learning disabilities; from moderate to profound. Friends of Osborne School is a registered charity whose primary aim is fundraising to enhance our students learning environment and experience at school.

Story

Hello there!

As a teacher at Osborne School I see first hand the fantastic work Friends of Osborne do. FOS have fundraised for and provided many things for the young people at Osborne. There are now IPADs in every classroom. They raised money and had an outdoor classroom and gym and swing area built outside. They provide support for parents and carers- putting on regular coffee mornings. They put on discos for the students. They provide money so that every student has a Christmas present and set up 'FOS Christmas shopping and wrapping service' so every student has the opportunity to go Christmas shopping for their families and friends. They have provided T shirts for Rubiks Cube and most recently the Osborne Rock Challenge team. They put on Summer  and Christmas Fayres to raise money giving our families and friends exciting events to attend.

At the moment FOS are fundraising to purchase small playground equipment and a bench for outside. They are currently supporting the refurbishment of the sensory room and light and sound room. This will include the purchase of new equipment for these rooms.

FOS work really hard to ensure the best for our students and families.

I love my job and I love running so I decided to combine the two and fundraise for FOS this year whilst training for and running the London Marathon :)
