Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I decided a couple of weeks ago to take the plunge and run the Bath Half Marathon for Diabetes UK.
I was moved by the death of my dear friend Alison's sister last year. I never met Emily but from waht Alison told me of her she sounded a strong, caring, ambitious girl with energy and ambition.
Alison has made a sterling and commendable effort to train for the London Marathon (which she will complete in April 2013) and raise funds for Diabetes UK. She, and a large team of fellow runners in tow and between them are set to raise a lot of money. See http://www.justgiving.com/teams/emandme for their JustGiving page and dedication to Emily.
I wanted to play my part in this and make my contribution. I knew I would never be ready for the London Marathon but thought the Bath Half Marathon would be a suitable and achieveable challenge. It would also be a lovely opportunity to return to Bath where I went to University and first met Alison.
I have been training regularly and combining a bit of running, with a bit of swimming, walking and a 'body attack' class! I am feel fit and looking forward to the run.
