Story
I'm running the London Marathon for Mind - the mental health charity.
One in four people have a (reported) mental health problem – so the number is likely to be higher. It is a huge issue that is not talked about nearly enough. We need to campaign and make mental health issues as normalised as physical health issues, and a constant part of our conversation and dialogue.
Suicide is the leading cause of death for men under the age of 55, and the number one cause of death of young people under 34. I don’t say this to scare people, or upset you, but it does illustrate how important our mental health is. The shame that surrounds this issue needs to be abolished, and I hope I am part of the generation that will turn this around.
Please give generously to help the charity continue to do the fantastic work they do.
