I am taking part in the Bridges of London walk on the 25th September in memory of my mother-in-law Carole who sadly passed away in June following a very courageous battle with cancer and kidney failure.

The support and care given to Carole by the wonderful staff at the Isabel Hospice was second to none. Upon referral to the hospice in early May, Carole was assigned a specialist nurse called Anne who came to see her at home on a regular basis to discuss how she was feeling both physically and emotionally, help manage her pain relief and help guide her through what to expect in her final weeks. Anne was often a voice of clarity and calm during what was a very difficult, busy time filled with dialysis sessions and consultant appointments at the hospital.

When the time came to admit Carole to the hospice, the staff and volunteers were truly amazing. They cared for Carole with the highest level of respect and dignity and supported all the family through a very tough couple of days. They are also continuing to support the family through one on one bereavement counseling.

All of this would not have been possible without the kind donations of others for which the whole family is truly grateful. Your donation can help ensure that the Isabel Hospice can continue to provide these essential services to other families like mine.
