Story
Every year my local swimming pool advertises a swimming challenge in aid of the local council chair's favoured good cause, and this year that cause is Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The challenge is to swim 6, 12, 24 or 32 miles (or 384, 768, 1536 or 2048 lengths of the local pool). I'm going for the 32, which is a bit daunting, but hey, that's what challenges are for, right?
It costs £12,000 per day to keep the Yorkshire Air Ambulance running - if I can raise £250, that helps for half an hour. It's a service I'm very glad we have but I hope never to need.
As with all my previous posts on this subject, while my breast stroke is fine, I *still* can't swim crawl, so this is all going to be done in breast stroke. Think on that and weep, all ye water-borne speed demons!
