Story

It's been a while since I did a crazy cycling challenge and I thought this looked pretty Clare-like so let's sign up!

I am riding in the Ride the Night, a 100km through London at night for Women V Cancer - everyone knows someone who has lived or is living with cancer, in my case, 4 of my family members with the most recent being my mother who was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2016.

Though, in our good-humoured Dunn way, we like to call her an attention seeker (apparently being in an epileptic coma in a foreign country wasn't enough for her at the beginning of 2016!), my mother handled her diagnosis with bravery, action and a lot of laughter. She is one of the strongest women I've ever met and my ultimate role model. I am delighted to say that, through an operation and radiotherapy, she is now in remission and we received a clear result from her last mammogram.

I am so aware that if it weren't for the work and funding raised by charities such as the ones that make up Women V Cancer, Mum, (and thousands of other women) may not have received the incredible care she was given and so I wanted to give back and say thank you for everything they do to help cancer royally f**k off!
