When Richard and I heard Saint Michael's were looking for 60 fearless fundraisers to hot foot it down a 20ft track of burning hot embers to help raise funds, we decided to be very brave and bare our soles to the hot coals.

Why, you may ask?

It's simple. It costs £3.8 million every year to maintain Saint Michael's services. This includes Just'B', our bereavement support service, where I have worked for the past three and half years. Less than 20 percent of this is funded by the NHS, so the charity relies on the generosity of the local communities, mad people like Richard and I and all the other wonderful fundraisers, to ensure local people get the end of life care they want, need and deserve.
