Colin's 2,021 mile walk

2,021 mile walk · 21 June 2021
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In April 2021 the world lost a special person to ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) the most common form of MND (Motor Neurone Disease) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amyotrophic_lateral_sclerosis.
This person was a private individual who would not want his name publicised. To me, he was a colleague, a mentor, a significant influence on my career and above all else a very special friend, Many who know me will guess who he is from this description.
In his memory, and as he was a big sports fan, I have decided to do this and raise funds for the Doddie Weir Foundation which is funding vital research into MND - https://www.myname5doddie.co.uk.
I have set myself a challenge of walking (my knees will not let me do anything else) 2,021 miles between 22nd April and 31st December this year - an average of 8 miles a day or 2 marathons a week.
Thank you for any donation you make to help find a cure for ALS/MND. I will provide updates at the end of each month on progress and of course at the end of December to let you know how much we all managed to raise.
