This year I’ll be competing in the 100k London to Brighton ultra-challenge for the second year in a row.

Last year, I managed to finish in 24 hours and 29 minutes which was great, but this year, I’m looking to go even quicker! Like last year, I’m going to be joined by Russell, a chap from Sussex who’ll be guiding me.
Russell was fantastic company last year and we had a great time belting out some Elvis Presley classics in the early hours of the morning to keep up morale!

Blind Veterans UK has been fantastic in supporting me since I lost my sight in 2005. They’ve provided me with a tablet computer and IT training, and have also been excellent in terms of helping me regain my fitness. In the army, I competed in every sport; from football and cricket to boxing and hockey - even winning the  Northern Ireland trophy for basketball for my battalion – so it’s hugely important to me that I’m able to remain sporty, and this is where Blind Veterans UK has been so important. Along with the Great South Run in 2015 and two 100k London to Brighton challenges, I’m also looking to tackle a Triathlon in the next few years!
