DofE Diamond Challenge · 31 December 2016 ·

We’re more determined than ever to make sure new generations, especially young people from disadvantaged groups, can discover the power of DofE.

Story

I’m not putting it off any longer. I’m taking the DofE Diamond Challenge right now. Sponsor me and help transform the lives of vulnerable young people. During 2016 I will be walking the 215 mile (or more) London Countryway. Mostly as a series of Day Walks, I am tackling this almost forgotten route that encircles London but never actually enters it. My new walk, and new challenge, will be accessed via public transport and undertaken alone.

I will be walking through three Areas of Outstanding Beauty, two National Nature Reserves, two Community Forests, a Regional Park, crossing the Thames east and west of London and following (briefly) three canals. I will be passing through Windsor Great Park in the shadow of the castle and through Roman Verulamium. All while (hopefully) recovering from Plantar fasciitis.
