Preventing extinction my way!

Crafting for conservation · 7 May 2020
Hi everyone!
Back in early May, I decided to start making homemade face masks to raise money for this amazing charity. The work the zoo does in conserving species, undertaking research, protecting ecosystems in the wild and spreading conservation education messages around the world is vitally important for the future safeguarding of our planet.
I set myself a target of £530; £1 raised for every species currently housed at Chester Zoo. With your help, I absolutely SMASHED my target, doubling it in just a month and a half. I have made 275 masks to date, spending around 200 hours on admin, drawing out templates, cutting, sewing, packing and posting - so I've decided to call it a day. From today, I will no longer be taking orders for masks.
For anyone who likes the look of these masks, why not have a go at making your own? Here's the pattern I used, it's available free to download here: https://www.craftpassion.com/face-mask-sewing-pattern/?pid=1258#picgallery
I will be leaving this Just Giving page active for anyone who wants to continue to donate to the zoo. As a charity which depends on its visitors for income, the period of closure during one of their busiest seasons is continuing to have a massive impact on the zoo. So every penny raised counts!
Thanks for your support :)
