The Great Cranleigh Prep Sleep Out

We give children a week on working farms to grow courage, compassion and curiosity

This year, many of the Cranleigh Prep School residential trips were cancelled and our holiday plans are currently on hold. Whilst this is sad for us, for some children, the cancellation of such trips will be devastating.  Farms For City Children provide school residential trips for some of the most disadvantaged children in the UK.  We want to help them keeping going so that they are ready to welcome children when the time is right.

On Saturday 20th June, we invite all families to join our Great CPS Sleep Out!  We encourage all pupils (with parents/ siblings) to spend the night either outsidein a tent/ summerhouse/ homemade den, or inside in a homemade den.

To make your night even more special, please find below a link to a video where you will find Michael Morpurgo reading a bedtime story especially to the CPS children and Mrs Groocock (Head of Science) explaining what we should look out for in the night sky.  The password for this video in Mrs Lewis' email.

We hope that families taking part in the Great CPS Sleep out would make a voluntary donation to our partner charity for the event, Farms for City Children.

About the charity

Founded in 1976 by children’s author Michael Morpurgo and his wife Clare, our three farms welcome 3000 children and young people from underserved communities each year, helping them to step outside of their daily lives, learn new skills, grow in confidence and be braver, stronger and more resilient.
