Story
In September 2021, my life took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with tonsil cancer. It was a frightening time, filled with uncertainty and worry. The months that followed were a whirlwind of appointments, tests, and treatments. My last treatment was on New Year's Eve, 2021. I thought my challenge was over, but I faced the fight back to good health.
I'm incredibly grateful to say that I'm currently all clear of cancer. This experience has given me a profound appreciation for life and a deep understanding of the vital support that organisations like Macmillan Cancer Support provide.
Macmillan is there for people from the moment they’re diagnosed, through their treatment and beyond. They offer practical, emotional, and financial support to people living with cancer and their families, ensuring that no one faces cancer alone. That's why I've decided to take on the Thames Path Mighty Hike, half marathon distance. I want to give back to Macmillan and help them continue their incredible work. This hike is a personal challenge for me, a way to mark my own journey and to show my gratitude for the support I received.
Every step I take will be in honour of those who are currently facing cancer, those who have survived, and those who have sadly lost their battle. I'm determined to complete this hike and raise as much money as possible for Macmillan.
Please sponsor me and help Macmillan continue to make a real difference in the lives of people affected by cancer. Every donation, no matter how small, will help them provide vital support and care. Thank you for your generosity and support.
