Cumbria YFC Charity Bike Ride 2022 · 23 September 2022

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

We (Robbie and Will our County Chair and Vice Chair) have decided to raise money for Teenage cancer trust. On 21st January 2022 Penrith YFC devastatingly lost 13-year-old Lucy Bland from her short but very tough battle with Leukaemia. Lucy was heavily involved with Penrith YFC
There is no doubt that Lucy was a star of the future and her loss was truthfully heart-breaking
During Lucy's last few months she received treatment at the RVI with team members from the teenage cancer trust who worked closely to look after her.
More recently, a junior member of Crook YFC has been diagnosed with a form of blood cancer - luckily the doctors believe this is curable and he is undergoing treatment. This young gentleman has been a member for 7 years and he is one of the most reliable, hard working and talented members that Crook YFC have.
Members from across the County will be invited to bike along legs of the 240 mile journey I will be undertaking. Members will pass me on over 3 days of cycling and invited to plan events on the weekend of 23rd - 25th September 2022.

More updates will be following and please check out our social media pages for updates leading up to the weekend.
