Raising money to fight Congenital myotonic dystrophy

Story

There are so many charities “fighting” for people’s
sponsorship these days that I decided I would only focus my efforts to ones
that are personal to me.

My neice, Emmie has Congenital Myotonic Dystrophy and so
there was a need to do something very special to help raise funds.

Effects of this disorder can be extensive – from heart
problems to cataracts, to diabetes, to learning difficulties. No one child will
experience all problems and no two children will present exactly the same
symptoms.  For Emmie, she has severe
speech delay, she has a very strong prescription for glasses (which she has
worn since she was 6 months old) and if she walks any more than about 10 yards
she usually falls over. Is it going to affect her future? Most probably, but
knowing Emmie as I now do, it won’t stop her doing anything she wants to do.  Despite this, she is amazing!

This sponsorship is to help raise funds for her charity http://www.musculardystrophyuk.org/news/news/congenital-myotonic-dystrophy-fight-fund-sian-rixons-story/

So the challenge! - Cycle the length of England (440 miles)
and up the height of Everest.

I didn’t fancy doing it on my own so I knew my mate Rob
would be up for a “laugh”.

I have known Rob a very long time and was really pleased
when he said he will be up for the challenge.
We have shared a lot of experiences between us, including at my wedding
and being my best man but forgetting to tell him until an hour before!

So minimum of 30 hours in the saddle plus breaks over 3
days, starting on the 15 June 2017, from Southampton and ending in Marshal Meadows
Bay, which is the most northern point of England.  The whole ride is climbing over twenty nine
thousand feet, which is the equivalent of Everest.

I really hope you can dig generously for this worthy cause
and support Rob and myself.
