Story
Hi, please help me support the amazing work the Alzheimer’s Society do to improve the lives of those suffering with Alzheimer’s and or dementia.
My dad was diagnosed with vascular dementia some time ago and the daily struggle has become increasingly worse over the last few weeks of lockdown, due to the coronavirus pandemic and the disruption to his daily routine. Seeing the confusion in his eyes, as he struggles to deal with how things are in his mind, is absolutely heartbreaking to see and deal with.
His health and condition has dramatically deteriorated, and the strain on my mum, who is his main carer, my sisters and myself has increased.
While it is so heartbreaking to see this happening, as a family we have had support from the Alzheimer’s Society as we try to care for my dad - but they can only help us and other families in the same situation if people donate.
While taking on this challenge to ride 500 miles in a month (I normally only ride about 100 to 150ish!) to raise vital funds for the charity, I will be continuing to work full time, help care for my dad whenever I can and hopefully live a near normal life (as normal as it can be during these times!).
I understand that times are hard and purse strings are already strained, but I ask that you help support this amazing charity and the work they do, with any donation, no matter how small. Thank you, Rick
