Event: 2023 St Michaels Mount Swim, on 12 August 2023
We support the fight against men’s cancers to fund nurses, equipment & support.

Story

The swim has been postponed to Saturday 26th August due to strong winds and swells forecast which are a health and safety risk.

Raising awareness is at the heart of everything this charity does,  as well as this, with funds raised by YOU, they support our hospitals by purchasing the very latest equipment and treatments that perhaps aren’t available in the region.  They have a unique geography, so their work is often unique, to help more men than ever before, they are also building an online community, reaching more men in the community who need help and support during and after their cancer treatments. ‬They want men and their families to know that they are here for as long as needed.

As a cancer survivor myself I know only too well the challenges and importance of awareness.

I want to support this charity and also show support to dear friends who have faced, and some of whom are still facing,  men's health challenges: Colin dear friend and amazing Kundalini yoga teacher, dear Tony true friend, professional mentor and colleague,  dear David husband of Norma and Andrew husband of my long standing school friend Wendy.

About the charity

The Chestnut Appeal for Men's Health fundraises for nurses, equipment and treatment, as well as providing, awareness campaigns on prostate cancer, the most common cancer in men, right across Devon and Cornwall. We also raise awareness of testicular cancer and penile cancer in our communities.
