Story
Patricia fought hard against her cervical cancer diagnosis. In 2016 her valiant efforts came to an end and after having moved in to live with my husband, daughter and I, Patricia was referred to Trinity Hospice for support. When we arrived at Trinity we were overwhelmed by the surroundings and the great team who work there. After just 10 days of her arrival at Trinity, even when we thought we would have more time with Patricia, the battle was lost. Patricia was surrounded with love and her family. I cannot recommend Trinity enough, the support they gave during Patricia's last days and thereafter. I am now at the same age Patricia was in 2016 and wanted to both celebrate her life and support Trinity, four years after her death. I am therefore rising to the challenge of running (well I'm sure there will be a lot of walking too) in this years' London Marathon in her memory and to raise funds for this wonderful hospice, which provides the best support when needed for end of life care. Therefore, please do dig deep and sponsor me. None of us will know if or when we may require such care that hospices' provide. The care provided is free of charge and the funding of such is met in the main by individual donations.
Royal Trinity: We believe that every moment matters, so we go above and beyond to help our patients and their families make the most of every moment they have left. Hospice care is as much about living as it is about dying. We want to give our patients the time and support they need to make informed decisions about how they die. We’ll continue to be there after death, for those close to them, providing specialist emotional and practical support, no matter their age. Last year we cared for 2,500 people at the hospice and out in the community.
