St Albans Half Marathon 2016 · 12 June 2016 ·

At Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) we champion animal welfare around the world and create sustainable change. We send vets where they are needed most, provide expert veterinary training in hard-to-reach places, and ship urgent aid supplies worldwide, every day of the year.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Dan, Tom and Chris are hoping to complete the St Albans Half marathon in a reasonable time in order to raise as much money as possible for the work of the WVS!

The Worldwide Veterinary Service is a unique organisation that supports over 800 animal health and welfare charities worldwide, providing vital medical supplies, veterinary teams, equipment and advice. The work of the WVS is ceaseless and constantly expanding; it has included disaster response, international animal welfare cases and the establishment of veterinary training centres in India and Thailand in order to provide a future for veterinary care in these regions and to tackle devastating illnesses like rabies which affect humans and animals alike.

WVS treats thousands of animals every year, helping to provide basic medicines and veterinary care needed to promote animal welfare and minimise suffering in settings where these would otherwise not be available. The charity aims to build a sustainable future for veterinary care in impoverished regions worldwide in a one-health context that benefits humans and animals alike.

We're open to getting a few more runners on board and in doing so raise the funds needed to supply basic but vital medicines, equipment  and training to veterinary charities worldwide who work tirelessly to relieve animal suffering and champion their welfare.
