Weldmar Hospicecare needs to raise £26,000 a day to continue the specialist end of life care we provide in Dorset, both in the comfort of patient's own homes and at our IPU in Dorchester. 20% of our costs are met by the NHS, the rest comes from the generosity of our local community.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running this year's world famous Dorchester marathon.

I am hoping to raise money for Weldmar hospice.  My beloved godparents received and receive such help and support from this wonderful establishment.

My godfather spent some time at Weldmar and it was thanks to their excellent care that he was able to return home. They were able to offer help throughout the rest of his illness which allowed him to stay in his own home, which meant so much.

Whenever I spoke with my godparents I was regaled with tale of how wonderful Weldmar had been, the food, the people and the kindness. Weldmar also takes care of carers too, offering counselling and so much more.

Whatever contribution you are a leading to give will be gratefully received by me and the hospice and it will enable them to offer this vital work to continue.

I have been training hard this winter, running in Canada, Liverpool, Dorchester and good old Cambridge. I completed the Cambridge half in bloody horrible conditions. Even lending my long sleeved top to a fellow runner.  Now I am ready for the challenge of the Dorchester marathon.  Can you help me on my way?
