Konnal and Sapphire are raising money for the NSPCC to help children who are being abused. Something that has personally touched all of our lives.
They will be climbing to the summit of Ben Nevis! for all of children in situations out of their control. Situations which have led them to feel scared, isolated, sad and desperate for help.
Every single child deserves to grow up with love, happiness, encouragement and to feel safe. To have their basic needs met such as food, water, clothing and shelter. As human beings we need to acknowledge this and act.
There are many types of abuse including bullying, sexual abuse, domestic violence, humiliation, neglect, psychological abuse, emotional abuse, physical abuse.... and we have a rough estimate on the amount of children being abused. But now we need to fight for the ones who haven't or cannot speak up, we need to let their voices be heard. They are the future. They are the innocent.
So many people always ask "how could anyone abuse a child"
We ask "how can so many good people not do anything about it"
The NSPCC is the leading children's charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. We help children who have been abused to rebuild their lives, protect those at risk, and find the best ways of preventing abuse from ever happening. Every child deserves the best possible chance to rebuild their life after abuse. That’s why we’re here. That's what drives all our work. And that’s why – as long as there’s abuse – we will fight for every childhood.
