DJs Do - The Amsterdam Marathon · 16 October 2011

Nordoff and Robbins is the UK’s largest music therapy charity, with a unique approach shaped by more than 60 years of practice. Through the power of music, it breaks through the barriers caused by life-limiting illness, disability and social isolation. The charity does this through providing music therapy to people across the UK, whilst also training the music therapists of the future and funding research to measure and improve the impact of its work.

Story

DIG DEEP & DONATE

Recently one of Kinky Malinki's long serving residents, Grant Richards, got into running marathons and ran his first in Dublin in October raising £1200 for his chosen charity. This year he has come up with an idea to further the cause but to also get fellow DJ's involved and came up with 'DJ's Do - The Amsterdam Marathon'. This will involve a select team of industry stalwarts running the Amsterdam Marathon on the 16th October 2011, with all sponsorship proceeds going to Nordoff Robbins music charity.

The DJ's that have signed up are:-

Dale Hooks (CR2, Kinetik Resident @ Mynt, Belfast)
Reuben Keeney (Toolroom)
Jeremy B (Ministry of Sound tour DJ)
Carl Holyoak (DJ/Producer - 1980 Recordings)
Grant Richards (Kinky Malinki)
Gary Quinn (Kinetik, Belfast)
Damo Walsh (Kinky Malinki)
Mark Williams (Nightowl - Ministry of Sound/Pacha, London)

This is a worthwhile and different opportunity that we hope you can support. Many of you have danced to music played or made by one of the above and now they are kicking the DJ stereotype to touch and giving something back. Months of training and the many miles run, will all be worthwhile with the sponsorship kindly donated by YOU!!  Please dig deep and donate and help others less fortunate than yourselves to benefit from the power of music.
