This year the DLP Group have entered two teams into the annual Extra Mile Challenge. The team members have volunteered to take part in order to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society (registered charity in England and Wales 1005541)and the British Heart Foundation(registered charity in England and Wales 1005541), in addition to the Extra Mile charities.

The team will be travelling over to France and riding a team relay cycle ride of over 500 miles in 3 days. The challenge will start in Nancy, in north-eastern France, cycling south and then west through the Vosges mountains and along the scenic "Route des Cretes" to Mulhouse. Day two the team will cycle west across the Rhine into Germany, over the hills in the Black Forest with some steep climbs and views of the snow clad alps, before returning to Mulhouse at the end of the day. Day three the team will cycle south into Switzerland with some tough climbs and descents before finishing the challenge at Montreux next to Lake Geneva. As with previous years, the route is expected to be very scenic but will cover some challenging terrain. A number of the team members have not taken part in an Extra Mile event before and will find out first hand why they call it a challenge.
