Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are the Dermot Murphy Centre, and we are a purpose-built, 22 bed Continuing Healthcare Unit, providing 24hour medical care to patients with complex medical and physical needs. We are held together by a super team with a heroic passion for providing the highest standard of care to people with the highest of medical needs, such patients with acquired brain injuries, Motor Neuron Disease, Parkinsons and Dementia. We operate under UHSM and are proud of the service we provide, but we rely heavily on public support and funding to do this.

Therefore, DMC League members decided to a 5km sponsored walk would be a great way to raise awareness of our centre and what we do, as well as raise funds to enable us to continue to provide a super service!!

The walk will begin and end at The Dermot Murphy Centre, 91 Dermot Murphy Close, M20 1FQ.

Our fundraising will go towards regular activities and events to help towards the more holistic needs of our residents. This can be anything like day trips, pet therapy, aromatherapy, and simple facilities for us to provide activities in-house.

A small amount can go a long way for people who live in hospital and we want to invest in providing a better quality of life as well as better quality of care.
