On the 16th June 2018 a team of 20 from DPP Law will take part in a Challenge the Wild event at Thirlmere in the Lake District. As if the 2017 experience wasn't bad enough, this year's challenge promises to be even more extreme than the last! During this event, we will be taking part in the following activities, a 10 mile trek, scrambling, rock climbing, canyoning (we will jump belly first into a fast flowing river, turn to a seated position and flow down with the current), rock slides, water jumps, walking behind waterfalls and abseiling down a waterfall, face first!
This year we have chosen the charity, The Joshua Tree. This is a small independent charity which supports families throughout the North West who are living with the life-changing experience of childhood cancer. Their main goals are to keep the whole family together during the devastating experience of childhood cancer, to provide emotional and practical support by way of play therapy, 1-2-1 therapy, help and advice to all family members and to ensure that every child affected by cancer receives support in achieving the best academic, social and emotional outcomes both in and out of the school environment. This includes liaising with schools to ensure all staff members receive the correct information on how best to support a child with cancer or living with the after effects of cancer. We are sure you will agree that this is a fantastic charity.
Thank you for reading our story and helping us raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause. Wish us luck!
