Story

These brave folk have signed up to abseil down Portsmouth's iconic Spinnaker Tower. The 100 metre vertical drop is not for the faint hearted! Please support them by donating and helping them to raise money for the Downton Primary School Association.

David is Dad to Brook in Year 1 - he is a firefighter and carpenter so is used to heights and is a bit of a thrill seeker! He moved to Downton six months ago and was bravely volunteered to do the abseil by his wife one evening at the brewery....

James moved to Downton nearly 8 years ago with his family, only two weeks before Toby was born. Toby is now in year 3; his eldest, Lucy, loved her time at Downton Primary but left to go to secondary school in September. James volunteered for the abseil to raise money for the DPSA, blissfully unaware of the 100m vertical drop……

Malcolm is Grandad to a student at the school and a very well known fundraiser and lifelong Downton resident. This whole thing was his idea :-)

Pascale is representing the ladies! She is a bit of a daredevil too.

Mike is another Dad who threw his hat in the ring and may also be slightly regretting it.... but he's keen to raise as much as possible so that the children can have access to all the brilliant opportunities the DPSA provides.

The charity raises funds to support our school and provide fantastic resources and opportunities for the children such as school minibuses for field trips, outdoor learning facilities and pantomime visits.
