Story

Hello,

Yes we’re going to complete 24hours of gaming during June!

We’ll stream the DadnLad40K team of Dad, Lad, Little Lad and
maybe Mrs DnL and Littlest Lad (moral support only) gaming, painting and spending precious family time together.

Why are we supporting “Game Over Dementia” well we’ve had
personal experience of Dementia in our lives, with the Great Nans of Lad, Little Lad and Littlest Lad all having been impacted by it.

What at first can be amusing forgetfulness can quickly become
quite dangerous, like the person impacted wandering alone, miles from home no real idea who they are or why they’ve gone to where they’ve been found, even trying to cook a meal can be hazardous, with something as simple as forgetting that the stove is on.

Dementia takes away the independence of your loved one and the sparkle that they bring into your life dims with the odd occasion of luminance. It’s quite true that when a loved one is impacted by Dementia that you loose them twice, first the character fades and when the time comes the physical person departs to.

While there is yet no cure for Dementia. There is a lot of great work being carried out to help improve the lives of those living with and caring for dementia, as well as investigating finding fresh, innovative ways to treat it.

Gaming has become part of our lives and in some aspects forms part of our own mental wellbeing. If we can raise a little to help improve the lives of those living with or yet to discover they’re living with Dementia.
Then we are happy to do so.

We hope you’ll support us 😊
