Story
I am running the Brighton 10km to raise money for NGO S.A.F.E. Kenya, who are doing vital work to end Female Genital Cutting (FGC) which continues to affect girls and women in S.A.F.E.'s communities where approximately 60% of girls undergo FGC – this is higher in the rural and remote areas.
S.A.F.E. Kenya is working towards equitable solutions surrounding women's rights and is nurturing a network of empowered and environmentally conscious young women to know their human rights and have the confidence to stand up for themselves and the environment.
Every donation goes to their arts-based community programmes, which use high-quality performance, film, and storytelling to solve some of Kenya's most urgent challenges.
My goal is to raise £500, which is being generously match-funded by Enjoolata Foundation - so every donation is doubled!
