Story
My mother, Jocasta Innes , died recently from pancreatic cancer. She spent her entire life showing people how to live with style and panache whether they had money or not. The Pauper’s cookbook gave a generation the courage to cook and PaintMagic inspired people to stencil, stipple, rag roll and gild. My mother spent her last days in the sitting room that she had decorated herself surrounded by all the things she loved best. She was able to do this because of the wonderful support offered by the Marie Curie cancer charity who sent nurses or carers every night to sit with my mother while her family got some sleep. Without their support I don’t think we could have cared for her at home.
My mother was able to die, as she lived in a blaze of colour, and I would like to raise money for Marie Curie in her memory. If people want to donate the price of a tin of paint, it will help this brilliant organization help other people spent their last days in colour.
