Charity paddle from Lincoln to Boston

Charity paddle from Lincoln to Boston · 22 June 2020
Together, Dan, Rhys, Ollie and Dave have set ourselves a challenge and to raise money for charity at the same time.
We will paddle, in single kayaks, from Lincoln to Boston on the River Witham. This is something we couldn’t do without the help of the team at Lincoln Canoe Club, who are supporting us by loaning the kit we need for the activity.
The distance we will be paddling is approximately 31 miles and we’ll be aiming to do this in a single day, setting off at first light on Monday, June 22. The challenge should hopefully be completed within 12 hours and we will have a small support team helping us along the way, with food and water.
The charity we will be raising money for is The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund. This great cause helps a large number of serving and ex-serving personnel in times of need. In addition, the Fund has several programmes in place to support communities and groups. For example, they have a brilliant programme called the Telephone Friendship Group, in which veterans – some of which may be isolated or lonely – have contact with one another and the Fund’s representatives or volunteers. This type of programme is something Ollie himself has taken part in and supported recently during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Anything you are able to donate would be greatly appreciated and go to a fantastic charity.
