Story

Dance for Dizzy was set up in 2012 to raise money for Emma McLaughlins' life saving treatment in the US for a brain tumour. In August this year, Emma, fondly known as Dizzy by her friends, lost her 14 year fight with brain cancer and passed away at the much too young age of 37.

Those who knew Emma will talk of the warmth and love that radiated from her, her smile, her legendary hugs, her unwavering strength, which you couldn't help but be touched by. The success of the previous Dance For Dizzy, including the huge music event organised to raise money, was due to the love that people had for Emma, who had such a passion for life and people, despite her daily fight against her illness and the loss of both of her mum Berna and dad Pat to Cancer.

Her friends are now organising a gig to recreate that overwhelming sense of togetherness, and to remember a beautiful inspirational lady who taught those who knew her so much about life. Although sadly this time she will not be there dancing as before she will dance on forever in the hearts of her family and friends.

This page has been set up on request of those who cannot attend the Dance for Dizzy event but wish to contribute to a cause close to her heart.
