Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page - myself, Simon, Adam, Jim & Wayne aka our Pack / Team name "The Premature Accelerators" (yes we put that on the application form) would like to thank you for your donations.

We are competing in the Winter Wolf Run (the hardcore version of the event, not that summer jog through rolling hills and a few puddles some of you may be familiar with ;-p) its a 10 kilometer run though woods and fields littered with a cornucopia of both man made and naturally occurring obstacles, involving wading and swimming through freezing cold lakes, crawling through swamps and climbing up muddy hills.

This event is designed to test the competitors fitness levels, physical strength and mental toughness; something not one of us are well know for, apart from Simon who can run a bit. To be quite honest I didn't even tell Adam what he had signed up for until it was too late for him to change his mind. Jim has joined the team as the official camera man since he is the only one with a go pro (although he won't know that until he reads this). Wayne volunteered to join the team when he heard what we were raising money for - worryingly he did ask at the same time if he would be able to do it on his bike because he doesn't like running and he was genuinely serious.

But why are we doing it? Well let me tell you, it's because we didn't think that anyone would sponsor us to do a 24 hour beer drinking marathon - and we are trying to raise as much money as possible for a really worthwhile cause. The proceeds are going to "Zoe's Place" in Coventry which is a hospice that provides 24 hour respite care for terminally ill children aged 0-5. Unfortunately Zoe's place, which relies massively on public fundraising, has just announced they haven't been able to raise the funds required to operate at full capacity this year so it's up to the people of Coventry and Warwickshire to step it up a gear and make sure the funds are available in the future.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
