Event: Lost Hours Walk, from 26 October 2019 to 27 October 2019
In memory of Edward Hill
When it hurts we talk. When the clocks go back we walk. 11pm, Sat 26 October: Time to unite against suicide. As time goes backwards, we're walking forwards to campaign against feeling shit, against struggling in silence, against living miserably.

Story

Like many others, we have been affected by serious mental illness.

Last year we lost our father and friend, Ed Hill to suicide.

Ed was a loving father and a creative, intelligent and passionate artist and activist. He loved beautiful places, community empowerment, baroque music and marmite. But he also suffered from mental health problems throughout his life often struggling to create and sustain positive relationships with others.

Caterina and I are doing this walk with Tess Le and our 10 year old daughter, Sophia Le-Hill, our friends Alice Duggan, Ann Le, Anna Strongman, Cece Le-Coleman, Chloe Dunnett, Lizzie Chatterjee, Josh Stott, Oci Stott, Richard Sullivan, Ross Coleman in memory of him, and in solidarity with all those who have lost others to suicide and who continue to suffer from serious depression and other mental health problems.

The walk starts in Greenwich - a place that Edward was absolutely committed to - and follows the river which always drew his interest. As well as walking, I hope that we'll be doing talking. Because through connecting with others, we can help to make a positive difference to so many others.

Please donate for this important cause that will help provide connections to those who need it, and reduce stigma around mental health. Even if this helps only one person to find a way to not commit suicide, that would be worth it a thousand times over.

_______________________________________________________

The Lost Hours walk is our first CALM event and our opportunity to deal with grief differently and defiantly. We want to smash the silence around loss, and remember our sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers and friends out on the streets of London. Be part of it. Walk with us from Greenwich to Big Ben and back again to make change happen, and continue to grow our life-saving services. We have created the Lost Hours Walk for everyone who has lost someone to suicide, or who cares, as we do, about the thousands of lives lost every year. This will be a chance to come together with friends, family and other CALM supporters to remember, celebrate, take action and fundraise. The event will take place overnight on 26 October 2019, the night the clocks go back.
